Awareness and Environmental Impact

In many schools in the interior villages, students were initially shy to speak about menstruation in public and considered it a social stigma.

Through sharing information related to menstrual cycle management or menstrual hygiene practice, girls are  informed about your genital infections. Apart from that, the high levels of period stigma from male students, including teasing or bullying, can significantly prevent them from continuing at school because they paint women or girls who menstruate as unclean and impure. Not only can this cause girls to drop out of school, but this type of stigma also can have a negative emotional impact. When women and girls don’t live in an environment where they can talk freely about their problems, it becomes a matter of gender inequality. In some rural areas, it was noticed that women and girls

dispose of it in the field around their houses, which can cause significant environmental impacts. Sukriti workers work with the teachers to educate everyone in the school without any shyness and create creative awareness regarding Menstruation and Menstrual Waste Management.

Social Impact

Conducted around 50  seminars on health awareness with special emphasis on Menstrual  Health and distributed more then 1.0 lack sanitary napkins in villages of 24,pargans and various school in villages and urban areas.

Through various Seminars and in-person visits, Sukriti could reach many underprivileged women and their family members in our society and was  able to make them understand the hygienic way of Menstrual management using sanitary napkins over rags, cloth, etc. The impact of the same is quite encouraging, and on  subsequent visits to villages and schools we found that 75% women of them started using Sanitary napkis. We ad sanitary napkins . subsequently we are making sanitary napkins available at a very affordable low price rd.5/- only.

Around 70% of women trained on various skills could earn their livelihood and place themselves in higher status in society

Economic Impact

Multiple students who enrolled in our Nursing training program at Krishna Chandrapur Village got internship jobs at State Hospital. Some of the beneficiaries in the Tailoring Unit have received orders from various localshop owners and boutiques as they have been made proficient in makingfashionable women’s attires and regular wears.

Community Development

The impacts involve working directly with individuals or small groups, and macro-work consists of working with communities and fostering changeon a larger scale. Sukriti workers can empower communities by encouraging individuals to take an active role in shaping social services, providing education programs, and enabling economic independence long-term.The distribution of Maternity Pads in various hospitals helped the poor patients admitted there andboosted the morale of our workers. We have received positive responses from the hospitals interested in keeping the Maternity pads in their medicine shops.

Sukriti had a welcoming audience everywhere; the teachers and school authoritieshave been highly cooperative and helped us beyond their means. The headmaster at Krishna Chandrapur village had shown interest in collaborative efforts with social welfare associations and stateofficials. In Medinipur, Sukriti received felicitation from the local people. Finally, many smiling faces, happy children, and enthusiastic workers keep us motivated along the journey.
