Initially, the project was started by a few young at heart  retired women, who were all above 60 years with a dream to support  the under privileged women and helping them develop professional skills for Economic and Social independence.
We have conducted several health surveys and awareness programs at different villages  in 24 Pargana(south) and Kolkata when we realized that many of the under privileged women were unaware of the use of sanitary Napkins or were unable to get hold of their essential needs and hence were susceptible to various diseases.
We have engaged some under privileged women in our society to produce Sanitary Napkins under the brand name ‘Sahelee.” We distributed around 100000 Sanitary Napkins in different villages and different schools and slum areas of Kolkata. Many village girls have taken initiative to sell these product in remote villages at a very low cost to spread usability.
